• Height: 10–11 inches (25–28 cm)
• Weight: 5–8 kg (11–18 lbs)
• Category: Small breed

😄 Personality

• Alert, independent, and a bit aloof with strangers
• Deeply loyal and affectionate with family
• Calm but can be mischievous and stubborn

• Exercise: Moderate — enjoys walks and indoor play
• Training: Needs early socialization and firm, patient training
• Feeding: Balanced diet, watch weight especially in less active Lhasas
• Health: Prone to kidney issues (hereditary), eye problems, and joint issues

⚠️ A Few Things to Note

• Can develop Small Dog Syndrome without strong leadership (definition below)
• Can be territorial and suspicious of strangers — socialization is key
• May be snappy if not treated respectfully, especially by young children
• Sensitive to harsh discipline; respond better to calm, consistent training

Small Dog Syndrome is when small dogs become bossy or overconfident due to lack of structure—showing behaviors like barking, guarding, or ignoring commands. Prevent it by treating them like dogs, not babies, and setting clear rules.

👤 Ideal Owner

• Experienced or patient first-time dog owners who can commit to grooming
• Families with older children or adults
• Apartment dwellers or homeowners
• Someone who values a loyal, independent companion with watchdog instincts
